
We’re throwing a music and dance party on Friday, June 13 to celebrate and support the new nonprofit Hyannis Arts Hall, located at 81 Willow Avenue in the Historic East End of Hyannis.
Tickets for the award-winning international Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra include music, dancing, one complimentary beverage—with a beer and wine bar available— plus Latin-inspired food from Family Table Collaborative. Emcee Jonathan “JT” Thompson of JT’s Chronicles will help keep things lively and fun.

Formed in October 1980 in Amsterdam, NY, the12-piece Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra is led by the Bronx-born bassist Alex Torres. They’ve appeared at hundreds of festivals, performing arts centers, and events to perform their original blend of Afro-Caribbean rhythms with Salsa, Merengue, Cha-cha, Bomba, Plena and Latin Jazz. The orchestra has received multiple awards including the New England Cultural Arts Preservation Award, New York State Music Achievement Award, Schenectady League of Arts Award, Governor´s Excellence in Arts Award, NAACP Albany Chapter Award, honors from NY Capital District Original Music Awards, and multiple Grammy nominations. They’ve played globally including in China and for luminaries including Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra will be a great Friday night launch to Father’s Day weekend on Cape Cod, with the new Hyannis Arts & Flea on Saturday, June 14 and the famous Father’s Day Car Show from the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, June 15 on Main Street in Hyannis.
The new Hyannis Arts Hall at 81 Willow Avenue can be found just footsteps off Main Street at the rear of the Federated Church campus, easily accessible by a short walkway from Main Street. Hyannis Arts Hall faces Willow Avenue, across from the old PB bus station and Centerville Cleaners.
