The Split Tax proponents have called for a special “meeting of the voters” to try and convince the Town Council that commercial properties should carry more of the tax burden than residential properties. Their proposal is for a tax factor of 1.5 which means that your taxes would increase by 50%. The majority of our Town Councilors have supported us through this 3 year long debate and must hear from us on May 6. Even if you do not want to speak, you need to be there—Barnstable High School, at 6pm. Please mark your calendars now! Call Cynthia with any questions. 775.7982x3.

The Figawi Charities comes to Main Street for Arstcape Thursdays on May 1st
Artscape 1st Thursdays teams up with the Figawi Charities to present a preview of the 22nd Annual Figawi Charity Ball on May 1st at Embargo. There will be a preview of the artwork that will be auctioned off at the Ball on May 17th, in addition to select pieces from various Main Street galleries. There will be absentee bid forms on hand. The event will be a promotion for the Ball with tickets available for sale, raffles and a fashion show.
