Local Business Boost Program
from the Hyannis Main Street BID and Love Live Local
with support from the Town of Barnstable, Amplify POC Cape Cod and MassDevelopment’s TDI Program
offering one-on-one technical assistance and implementation support to small businesses in downtown Hyannis to assist in their recovery from the ongoing pandemic and help them gain a competitive advantage in an increasingly global marketplace.
The goals of the 2023 program are to:
- Provide financial support to local businesses seeking to improve, enhance and elevate their current operations in their physical and/or online space.
- Focus on the implementation of technical assistance in local businesses’ digital and physical spaces.
- Engage with local service providers to implement the technical assistance to create a multiplier effect for the community.
- Help keep Cape Cod unique by supporting independent businesses in this era of standardization.
This round of the Local Business Boost Pilot Program will provide grants to qualifying locally owned businesses with a physical location within the Hyannis Main Street Business Improvement District. Ineligible entities include nonprofits, churches, social clubs, check cashing agencies, and franchises of national and regional chains. Independently owned franchises will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The program will provide an assessment of the local business recipients to determine their service from e-commerce development to social media strategic planning and interior improvements to merchandising assistance and match them with qualified local service providers and compensate technical service providers to conduct the required work. Most grants will be in the range of $5,000-$6,000, however awards may be more or less based on need and availability of funds.
