Hyannis Main Street BID Hosts 23rd Annual Meeting

The 23rd Annual Meeting Breakfast for the Hyannis Main Street BID was held this past Wednesday, in person for the first time in 3 years, at Embargo. After opening remarks from Board President Dave Colombo, the election of officers was presided over by Board Clerk Mark Sexton. Thank you those who have stepped down: Sam Mazzeo and Dhaval Prajapati, and welcome to our new Board Members, Ranu Mehta of Port Cargo, and Pat Smith of Smith Family Popcorn.

We were honored to present awards to the following exemplary members of our community:

The Beacon Award was presented to Shannon Connolly, of Bugg’s Place Toys, whose stellar interactive children’s store shines a light on the West End of Main Street.

The Main Street Citizen Award was presented to Conrad Watson, for his dedication to improvement in the East End of Main Street.

The Cynthia Cole Award was presented to Amanda Converse, a linchpin of the community, recognized for her great work on the Local Business Boost Program, for she and partner Jen Villa’s organization, Love Live Local, which is a great benefit to our community, and many other important collaborations.

We also recognized the legacy of two Main Street businesses, The Roadhouse Cafe (39 years), and Sunnyside Restaurant (43 years), both closing their doors after decades in our community. Thank you for all of the great years, we will miss you!

Executive Director Elizabeth Wurfbain gave her Year in Review presentation, highlighting another busy year for the BID, including our Pollinator Pathway, new grant funding, fabulous events all year long, and so much more!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend, we are so grateful to all of the community support and partners the BID can count on, and we look forward to another year of following our mission to make Hyannis Main Street a great place to live, work, and play!
