Thank you to this week’s movie sponsor, Colors of Cape Cod, and to our series sponsors, The Town of Barnstable and The Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce.

This week’s movie is The Finest Hours, based on the book of the same name, co-written by Hyannis native Casey Sherman with Michael Tougias, telling the gripping story of a daring Coast Guard rescue off Cape Cod during a Nor’Easter in 1952. Sherman plans to attend and introduce the movie. The real-life restored rescue boat CG36500 from the story is on display this summer by the Orleans Historical Society at her summer berth at Rock Harbor Pier, Orleans. The docudrama is rated PG-13 and runs 117 minutes.

Presented by Hyannis Main Street BID, Love Live Local, and Hyannis Film Festival, please join us for Movies on Main! On six consecutive Friday nights beginning July 3 at the parking lot on the corner of Main Street and High School Road, family friendly movies will be featured on an inflatable screen. The lot will be configured to accommodate about 50 vehicles spaced appropriately for social distancing. Sound will be transmitted through FM radio.

Admission will be $20 per vehicle. Those attending are encouraged to order food — for pickup or delivery to their cars — from downtown restaurants. There will be additional entertainment including a disc jockey and musical performances.

Proceeds will benefit the Cape Cod Resilience Fund and the Hyannis Film Festival.
